Hollerado is a band from a small town called Manotick, Ontario, that existed from 2008 until 2019. In that time they played a couple thousand shows, in basements, stadiums and everything in between. Their DIY spirit and "say yes" attitude took them on tours of over 20 countries as far and wide as Brazil, China, Russia and Hamilton with bands such as Weezer, Flaming Lips, Sum 41, Passion Pit, Gang of Four, and Fred Penner. Along the way frontman Menno Versteeg started Royal Mountain Records to release the bands own music, which eventually led to the discoveries of internationally acclaimed artists Alvvays, Pup and Orville Peck, as well as releases from Mac Demarco, Metz, and U.S Girls.

The 4-time Juno losers, had a whole bunch of hit songs, and one gold record that took literally 13 years to go gold. In 2019 the band retired, with a 60+ plus date world tour that concluded with 3 sold out nights at the Danforth Music Hall, and a final show at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern.

For the next six years, Menno, Nixon, Dean and Jake continued to hang out and be best friends all the time, but everyone did other stuff too. They even got other jobs and families and dare I say “our shit together.” Then one day they decided that since they hung out all the time anyway, and the world was going more bananas than usual, that maybe they should write some new songs and start a band. After much deliberation they decided to call that band Hollerado again, but just do it a little different this time.

And so what the heck, this fall there is an EP called “Start a Band” and they are playing a shows again from time to time, but only if they sound extremely fun, just the adventure began almost 20 years ago. And yes we wrote this bio ourselves and yes the first part of it was written in the third person cause otherwise it sounds weird.
