Formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 2017 by Ryan Patterson — musician, producer, visual artist, and creative force behind Coliseum, Black Cross, and Cat Magic Punks — FOTOCRIME has spent nearly a decade carving out a singular space in post-punk's darker corners. Drawing from classic EBM, darkwave, and industrial-tinged punk, Patterson channels the urban centers of London, New York, and Berlin while remaining rooted in Louisville's underground legacy.
On their fifth album Security (2026, Artoffact Records), FOTOCRIME erupt in an unexpectedly aggressive tone — channeling Killing Joke, Big Black, Godflesh, and the anarcho leanings of Crass into ten propulsive tracks recorded with new members Benjamin Clark on guitar and David Cundiff on bass. The album features appearances from Jay Weinberg (Slipknot), Barney Greenway (Napalm Death), Aaron Turner (Sumac, ISIS), and J. Robbins, among others. Few bands sound this immediate and energized on their fifth album.
